In December SMBC councillors met to vote on whether to accept the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework.
The council voted to reject being part of the GMSF, so now the council will have to develop it's own Stockport Plan to cover housing, transport and infrastructure etc by the end of 2023.
The draft plan is expected to be out soon for public consultation.

The High Lane Village Neighbourhood Forum [HLVNF] has completed the process of the six week consultation on their Plan, which contains policies in regard to any future developments in the village[Housing, transport, green and open spaces and heritage].
Please look at the HLVNF page on this website for more information on progress through the process. SMBC will be holding a referendum in September when residents will be able to vote for the Plan. If successful the Plan will be made and so will be incorporated into the SMBC Local Plan.
